2. Information We Collect 

User-Provided Data: Voice memos you record, transcripts, and custom categories (e.g., Work, Health, Mindset) stored locally on your iPhone or exported to Apple Notes.

Account Data: Email (e.g., via Apple ID for subscriptions) and subscription status (free or premium, managed by Apple).

Usage Data: Non-personal data (e.g., app interactions, crash reports) to improve performance, collected anonymously.

No Sensitive Data: We do not collect names, addresses, or other personal identifiers unless provided voluntarily (e.g., support inquiries).

3. How We Use Your Information 

App Functionality: Process voice memos, generate transcripts, and organize categories using Apple SpeechKit and OpenAI API.

Subscriptions: Manage premium subscriptions ($9.99/month, $99.99/year, 14-day trial) via Apple’s In-App Purchase.

Improvement: Analyze usage data to enhance App performance and fix bugs.

Support: Respond to inquiries via voicetap.app/support.

4. Data Sharing 

Third-Party Services:

Apple SpeechKit: Processes voice memo transcriptions (on-device or Apple servers, per Apple’s privacy policy).

OpenAI API: Cleans transcripts (e.g., removes “um”) for premium users, per OpenAI’s data policies.

Apple: Handles subscriptions and payment data, per Apple’s privacy policy.

Other Sharing: We do not sell or share your data, except:

To comply with legal obligations (e.g., court orders).

With service providers (e.g., hosting, analytics) under strict confidentiality.

No Third-Party Ads: VoiceTap is ad-free.

5. Data Storage and Security 

Storage: Voice memos and transcripts are stored locally on your iPhone or in Apple Notes (your control). Account data is managed by Apple.

Security: We use industry-standard encryption for data transmission (e.g., HTTPS for API calls). However, no system is 100% secure; use at your own risk.

Retention: We retain usage data (anonymous) for ~12 months to improve the App. User-provided data (memos, transcripts) is deleted upon account termination or App deletion.

6. Your Rights 

Access/Delete: Request access to or deletion of your data (e.g., support inquiries) via voicetap.app/support.  Most data is local (delete via iPhone or Notes).

California Residents: Under CCPA, you may request data disclosure or deletion (contact us).

EU/UK Users: Under GDPR, you have rights to access, rectify, or erase data (contact us).

7. Children’s Privacy

VoiceTap is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Contact us if you believe we have such data.

8. Third-Party Links

The App links to voicetap.app, voicetap.app/support, and Apple’s subscription management. These may have separate privacy policies.

9. Changes to Policy

We may update this policy, effective upon posting at voicetap.app/privacy. Check periodically.
